Starting from humble beginnings Palmers was originally a family business. The original site, now Palmers Glen Eden, was bought by Mr A W Palmer for a plant nursery in 1912. The new business prospered and grew with New Zealand's first modern style garden centre being built on the Glen Eden site in 1958. This success was followed by rapid expansion.

Palmers are proud to continue in this innovative tradition, constantly developing new ways of making your garden shopping experience easier and more pleasant. Palmers strives to fulfil and expand upon all your expectations. Time conscious customers will appreciate the new convenient ranges of pre-planted containers. Stunning year round colour can be achieved by enthusiastic gardeners who use our punnets of specially selected annuals.

Palmers is implementing a nationwide expansion programme of franchised stores, which will be owned and managed in the best traditions of Palmers.
