Why do at least half of my daffodils stop flowering after their first year? They put up lots of leaves but no flowers, they look like giant spring onions! some are in containers, some in the garden, I feed them all with bulb food. Garden soil is heavy but the container soil should be fine for them.
thanks

Please can you let me know what’s happening to the Palmerston North Palmers store. I understood it was closing for a rebuild, but nothing’s been happening. The Facebook page says it closed permanently, is this correct. Thanks.

Hello
I’d like to know if you have a contact for a Rotorua Garden Club.

Need a club that meets on a weekend not weekday.
Thanks.

I have just purchased a meyer lemon tree. I have a very small garden area and the best spot for the tree is next to the house facing northl
How far from the house can I plant the tree please. I am thinking I will keep it well pruned.

Hi
Our lawn seems to have smallish holes all over. Starlings seem to congregate .. could they be making the holes?
Recommendations or solutions please

Hi,

I am working at Victoria university of Wellington and I would need white lupine (Lupinus albus) seeds for a scientific collaboration with a research institute in Germany. The experiments would require Lupinus albus but I am aware that it is a mayor headache to import seeds into NZ. So, my question is if such seeds are for sale (I found mixes of lupine at Bunnings but we need pure white lupine. I’d appreciate if you could advice.

Cheers
Petrik

We have a townhouse in Mt Victoria, Wellington. No garden but a small backyard patio at groundlevel. Plenty of scope for pots and troughs . Last year tomatoes worked very well. Now we want to get advice on the scope we might have to expand to wider fruit and veggie options. Where can we get sound advice on this?

I am a bit annoyed I went in to Palmers Rotorua specially to buy 10 for $10 spot colour and came away have to pay $11 for 7.
Your 10 for 10 is still valid until 31st July.

Why isnt Rotorua Palmers offering this?

Does your Miramar Store have fragrant Daphne Shrubs in stock? I’m looking for a relatively established shrub (say 20-30cms in height minimum) to plant in a pot measuring 600mm diameter X 600mm tall. If yes, what do they cost? Many Thanks.

Hi
I have small trees in pots that have a thick green moss growing on the soil. I presume it will be using up the goodness in there…. what can I spray it with? I see sprays for moss in lawns, would that affect my young trees? thanks! Rachel

Hi. I have a long narrow garden across the front of my house. It is against the house so in shade all day until late afternoon. It is not sheltered so can be exposed to winds. What will thrive there? Ideally I would love to have plants with flowers to soften the house (currently not looking very attractive) Many thanks. Jo

Hi
I have just come back from holidays to find some black insects on my shallots. Is there something I can spray on them to kill them without affecting the shallots? – so I can still eat them?
I have photos if that helps
Cheers

As we live in Matamata we do not come to Tauranga on a regular basis. Tauranga Palmers is our closest store. My question is regarding the points system. We were just short of another voucher but knew that our spend would add to this. Our spend in two different transactions approx $194.00 and $94.44 on which there was a $25 gift voucher tendered. = $69.44.
We were told that in all we would be entitled to $30.00 in vouchers which we could not spend at the time. Told that the points would show up on our Palmers website overnight and we could spend the next day.
At this point in time so far they have not shown up, so if we were to come over today to purchase the extra we did not purchase Sunday 4th June we still would not be able to take up the rewards vouchers. Why does it take so long to come through. Many other retail outlets offer the reward at the time of purchase

Await you reply.regards

The curse of my garden is onion weed… I have tried everything I know, or have been told, to get rid of it… but nothing works.. this onion weed (I understand there are different types) has zillions of tiny bulbs at its base, white flower, but not the “snowdrop” looking flower)the leaf stinks! It grows throughout garden including the roots of my roses… H E L P
