I have recently purchased a property with overgrown fruit trees that are covered in a fury moss. What is the best action to remove this and how much pruning should i do to reshape the trees to a managable size.

The furry moss is probably lichen – which although unsightly is not a problem for the trees. However, you can spray them in winter with Yates Lime Sulphur to control it. Pruning is also done in winter – when the trees have dropped their leaves. Have a read of the Palmers How To Guide on Growing Fruit Trees for pruning information plus more – its found on the website or available in stores.
