Hi,
I purchased two gardenia’s off you recently. And was wondering how regularly I should be feeding them, and with what… I’m guessing with sulphate of potash, but would like more accurate knowledge.

Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa

Thanks for your question. Feed Gardenia’s every 3 – 4 weeks during the growing season with a complete food especially for flowering plants like Dynamic Lifter. Yellow leaves at the base of the plant can just be old leaves that are ready to drop. If you find yellow leaves on new young shoots then there is a nutritional deficiency. Be sure to plant your Gardenia’s in well drained soil with protection from the hot afternoon sun. Keeping the roots cool and preventing extremes in temperature to the soil is ideal with a mulch. I use the pea and lucerne mix sold in large bags at your local store.

Happy gardening and enjoy that magical scent over summer!
