About a month ago I had an area of approx – 26metres x 2 metres harrowed and made into a garden area (nothing planted yet). The grass that was there is starting to come through now and I am wondering : Can I spray the whole area with ROUNDUP to kill this grass – if so how long before I can plant things and will the spray kill the worms or can you recommend another way of doing it. I am lucky enough to have excellent Pukekohe soil as a base.

I would use Glyphosate 360. A broad spectrum, non-selective herbicide used in a wide range of situations. Extremely useful pre-cultivation to eliminate competition when establishing a crop or new pasture. Also used for general weed control around sheds, fence lines, races, drains and many other situations
It has no soil activity ie crops can be planted immediately after spraying.Or you don’t use chemicals and cover the area with old carpet, paper or plastic to keep the light out and kill the weeds.
