I just moved into a new house. In the back yard there is a grape tree with quite a few bunches of fruit, and three feijoa trees only flowering, and a passion fruit tree with a couple of fruits. Don’t know how many years they have been there. What do i do to keep them growing healthy and well?

Grape vines need to be pruned depending on the age of the vine. Apply slow release fertiliser each spring. Use pest and disease control as needed for downy and powdery mildew, grey mould and virus. Mites and aphids. Grapes also need to be supported with horizontal wires. Feijoa’s need watering during fruit development and fruit is harvested from late autumn into early winter. A light prune after flowering will encourage new growth and flowering. Allow to grow as a small tree or train as a bush or hedge. Passionfruit vines like fruit tree fertilser in spring, apply about a metre out from the stem. They do have caterpillars, vine hoppers which you need to look out for and spray depending on your preferred method.
