I was given a compost made up of lawn clippings, leaves and ash which is a year old approx. It is dark in colour, has worms in it but also has some clods. Is there anything I should add to this before it goes in the garden (which is mainly Native plants and a few camellias, and a hibiscus). Also is it safe to use?

If there are worms in it, it is good compost You could add some blood and bone to the ground that you are about to lay the compost on to. One handful per square meter then lay and dig in your compost in the top 15 cm.
