We had a tree specialist remove an oak tree from a garden (he ground the stump out also). Last year we had large fungus sprout up in the garden and on the lawn. We dug it out and sprayed it. I notice it has returned. Fungi doesn’t look anything like a mushroom, but is a sort of large fan shape and is multi-coloured brown. What do you recommend we do to kill it and prevent it returning?

It sounds like you have some spores left over and the problem is that they are so fine that they will spread very easily, even at the time of removing them. Treat with a fungicide each year until it does not return. Try one of the organic products from Kiwicare at your local Palmers store like copper oxy or thiram fungus control.
