My lemon tree has little piles of sawdust under some of the branches. The leaves on these branches are also quite yellow. Is this lemon tree borer?

It would appear so. The giveaway is the sawdust underneath. Border larva tunnels and destroys the stem tissues, eventually causing them to weaken and die – which is what is making the leaves look yellow. Spray with Conqueror Oil at any time of the year, or inject the holes that you can see with Kiwicare borer injector fluid.

I would try to get rid of citrus tree borer by following these steps: Lemon or citrus tree borer open holes through the bark of trunks and branches to get rid of their waste and it is through these holes that NO BORER INJECTOR fluid from Kiwicare can be injected to kill the larvae and prevent adults laying viable eggs in the holes. This is not an organic method, there are very few successful options out there. Transplanting into the ground will not make any difference to the borer and often does better in a pot as it is well drained etc.
