Had 3 caterpillars starving on swan plant. 1 has died so this am sourced several swan plants in hope of rescuing the other 2. 1 remains firmly on back of leaf however the other keeps falling to the ground. Have picked up a dozen times but given up. I didn’t obserSwan plantsve either of them eating and neither are big enough to proceed to next stage. Your thoughts?

Hi Alanna, this unfortunately can happen when transferring from one swan plant to another, as the chemical component within the different swan plants can vary and the caterpillar can sense this and just doesn’t want to “get stuck in” (sometimes people will blame this on the plants being sprayed, but this is not the case). Unfortunately the best solution is to have enough swan plant material available at all time, this means also sometimes limiting the number of caterpillars per plant. Get a couple of extra plants earlier so the caterpillar can adjust. Thanks, the Palmers team
