We have recently purchased our first home and move in mid-March. The house has several fruit tree’s and a large garden. As we have no experience in gardening or knowledge of the types of plants in the garden our worry is that there may be a plant potentially harmful/poisonous to our small toddler. Is there a service in Auckland that could possibly send out someone experienced to view our garden and advise accordingly what is actually growing in it? The previous owners were not helpful either. We are in the south Auckland area. Thankyou 🙂

Hi Amber, tricky one, because some children /adults can have allergic reaction to plants that other people do not react to. Without a visit to the garden to assess what is on site I couldn’t guarantee that your garden is 100% “clean”. Luckily we don’t appear to have a lot of plants that are very dangerous, at the same time you always have to be conscious, especially with children when they suck or put leaves in their mouth, that this potentially can cause swelling of tongues. You could employ a qualified landscaper to give you some advice, but I would imagine they will always give you only a recommendation. Unfortunately, we don’t have a list of local landscapers in your area, but the local newspaper could have them listed. Thanks, the Palmers team
