My grape vine (Albany Surprise, Vitis hybrid) of 8 yrs has never fruited. I have it in the corner of the garden trailing up a fence in a sunny position. Each year I have pruned it, fertilised it, and has plenty of healthy leaves but no buds have appeared What could be the cause of that?

Your grape may not be fruiting from over-pruning or over-feeding. Grapes like to be kept quite dry and quite hungry. The perfect plant to set and forget! Leave pruning this year and see if it comes away with some reward.
