I’m new to growing roses. I planted three rose bushes and two climbers in June. When should I feed the roses with Blood and Bone and how often? And also how do I stop grass and weed growing around it? I’ve been pulling them out, but that’s a lot of effort and time consuming, is there anything I can get to stop the grass/weed?

The best way to combat grass and weeds is by mulching 7cm thick around the base of your rose bushes. Just be sure to clear a small 10cm circumference ring around the trunk of the bushes so the bushes do not become moist logged causing trunk-rot. Feed your roses blood and bone now as the soil is warming up and feed again late summer.
