I have recently planted a small Daphne plant, however since planting it the leaves are turning yellow and falling off. It is in the garden and doesn’t receive much sun in winter. How can I help it?

Daphne will often drop leaf as a result of the stress of being ‘lifted’ from the field or transplanting. Getting them through their first season is the key and by their second season they will often burst into leaf and flower from a sad looking framework of sticks….so don’t dispare! Make sure excess water is draining away and then water regularly and mulch through the warmer months to keep the roots cool. A plant food tonic like Sequestron or yellow leaf remedy will help.
