I have a lot of slaters in my orchard and garden. But they are causing a problem with my tamorillo trees. They are eating away the main trunk and everywhere they can fit into little nocks on the main trunk. When I flick them out there are heaps of them in just little spaces. I have tried putting concrete rings around the trees to stop growth around the base of the trees but they are still coming. Not as many as before the rings but still quite a few. How can I get rid of them?

I’m afraid the only way you will get rid of them is by spraying with a good insecticide. They obviously have a hard shell which doesn’t make them easy to control. There are a few options you could talk about with one of our experienced staff in store.
