The leaves on our potato plants are starting to wilt and turning yellow. I suspect leaf roll virus. Is there anything we can do now or is it too late and what can do we do in the future to help prevent this. The potatoes are an early variety and should have been ready for xmas.

Once a plant has a virus, it cannot be salvaged, but must be destroyed and disposed of carefully – ie. not in your compost bin. Before you’re quite sure, it would pay to have an exploratory dig just to make sure that there isn’t a fungal disease happening below ground, which would mean that you could possibly spray.
