What vegetable plants should I be planting now in planter boxes. thanks

Hi Gail, the advantage of growing vege in planter boxes is that you can change the position of the planter boxes and place them in the right spot for the season. If you are able to shift your planter boxes away from the harsh condition of winter (rain, wind, frost) then you are able to still grow a wide range of vegetables and herbs, including lettuce. Traditionally from now on you would grow any of the brassica family (broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower), silverbeet, perpetual spinach, onions and around mid May you will be able to put your garlic and shallots in.
