My viburnum shrubs appear to have what I think is a severe thrip infestation again. In the past I have sprayed them, pruned off all infected foilage and removed any leaf fall. Each year the problem returns. Can you please help?

Hi Anne, this is a problem that viburnum suffer with, which can be hard to control. A couple of things we would recommend; give the viburnum a good spray with Enspray Oil over the winter months to see if you can knock some of the eggs out, repeat this early spring just before the new growth starts, then mid spring spray with something called Diatomaceaous Earth (DeBuG) and repeat this late summer when the thrips normally show the biggest damage (both the sprays are Biogro certified so are safe and easy to use).
Thanks, the Palmers team
