I have noticed an almost complete lack of fruit on all five trees ( each of a different sub-species , if that’s the correct description ) , although I have found some flowers on one of the trees . Any ideas ? Fertiliser and irrigation has been available as and when needed and not to excess in either case .

There were 2 yellow leaves on my lemon plant. Apart from this, the plant is growing very well. When the plant was smaller, there were several bouts of yellow leaves surfacing. I treated it with the yellow leaf tonic. What appears to be the problem now? Only 2 leaves were yellow? Is it in need of the tonic again?

A few years back I was given a nectarine plant. Not knowing where to plant it at the time I put it in a big plastic pot. This year I decided where I wanted it to go but unfortunately the roots have grown thru the bottom of the pot and taken hold. Can I cut the roots and transplant it or do I have to dig it up. The other thing is there has been no fruit this year but a lot of growth and it is now too tall for my liking. Can I prune the height and when should I do this.

Thank you

In wellington I have 3 lime trees, all in pots, all on my deck, all watered and feed the same. the bearrs lime flowers a little, sets all its flowers and produced limes consistently each year. The Tahitian lime is smothered in flowers, never sets a single fruit. is this a climate thing or should I put the Tahitian into the ground?

My strawberries plants, second year plants, are producing fruit that seem not very well formed. The fruit seems to curl onto itself. Just wondering what causes it? the cold weather, soil/ nutrient deficient? Please advice.

Hi there

I have tried to grow 2 lots of Passion fruit fines, the first one did not last long at all,the second one started growing quite well than all of a sudden the leafs turned yellow and that also died. We live in Papamoa. We went for a walk yesterday and saw a house with a really healthy Passion fruit growing and they live near the Beach. We are just a bit further down from the beach, they had about 4 vines growing in a row,do we need to have 2 plants growing.
What sort of soil do I need to have.

Cheers SUE
