Hi, last year my lemon tree only produced a few lemons.
I have noticed that there are small black and white spots on the leaves.
Have I neglected it? or is it salvageable.

Also what can I use to bring it back to life.
My second question is how do you treat plum trees. I have two that produce lovely plums but I don’t really know how to take care of it.

Thank you
Colleen.

I have just bought a blueberry plant with no clue as to how & where to plant it. I’m also planning to buy & plant a mandarin tree, passion fruit & feijoa trees. Could you tell me the best brands, times to plant & any other tips to help them survive at the hands of a novice gardener.

Hi, I bought a double grafted plum from you and have a strange situation. The main plant is growing well having flowered and now has a few fruit on it which is good for its first season, however the graft is still dormant and shows no sign of wanting to bud etc. It looks dead but after clipping the tip, I found it still very green and well and truly alive, it just has forgotten spring I think. Is there a way to force the graft to come out of dormancy or will it grow next year which is a shame as I would have lost a whole year of this tree developing. I no longer have the receipt so a exchange is not an option. Thanks

Citrus tree are losing their leaves – they’re green, not yellow. Plenty of blossoms on them. Have fed citrus fertiliser to them. Any ideas?

Hi
I am very much a amateur gardener, and was hoping you could give me some advice.
I was given a golden queen peach tree last year at the end of sept which soon after I planted developed leaf curl. I didn’t realise this at the time and did nothing about it. Hence it has come back again this year. From what I have read on the back of fungicide treatments/internet search, I have missed the appropriate time to treat the tree for this fruiting.
Can you PLEASE recommend when exactly I should treat now, what you recommend treating with, if I should still be adding fertiliser to the soil despite this, and also if I should be picking off all the early fruit buds for the first few years (someone said I should be doing this) and I havn’t done this-however as it was diseased last year only 1 fruit made it to full ripening, and it looks as though only 1-2 remain this year
I would greatly appreciate your knowledge here so I can have a healthy tree which many fruit for many years to come!! Thanks.

I have heard that correct plant spacing for Strawberries varies depending on which variety you a dealing with. This year I am experimenting with several; Pajero, Camarosa, Diamante, Seascape and Red Gauntlet. Could you please advise the recommended plant spacing for these different varieties?

I purchased a lemon tree a few months ago and although it looks very healthy it is dropping all the new fruit as it forms, I have not given it any manure and I do not think I have over watered it, The only thing I have given it is food for citrus trees. Would you have any idea what I am doing wrong?

I will shortly be moving to a new property and want to establish a berry garden. Raspberry, Blackberry, boysenberry as well as blue berry. When is the best time to plant these. I am in Whakatane where we have perhaps 12 light frosts each winter – the first today.

My grape vine (Albany Surprise, Vitis hybrid) of 8 yrs has never fruited. I have it in the corner of the garden trailing up a fence in a sunny position. Each year I have pruned it, fertilised it, and has plenty of healthy leaves but no buds have appeared What could be the cause of that?

I would like to grow Blackberries but it is now nearly impossible to find and get them off paddocks. Are there any seedless ones as I don’t want to spread them and what growing conditions and care do they like?

I have a mature grape vine in my backyard. For years we have had wonderful grapes. The last couple of years, the bunches have started to colour up, then before they are ripe, they shrival. Why? There is no obvious sign of disease and I prune every winter.

I recently moved to a new home which has some lovely citrus planted. They seem about 4 years old and are getting some TLC they may have missed out on. They have strawberry plants all around them. Is that wise? Should the strawberry plants be removed and let the citrus grow without fighting for nutrients, moisture etc? The same situation applies to some pip fruit trees as well
