My True Love gardenia growing indoors has developed brown leaves on the edges as well as yellowing and then they drop off. However, it is forming flower buds and new leaves. I water only once a week, completely drenching the soil, checking with a water gauge. I also check for insects and cover the mulch bark with diatomaceous earth and spraying it with neem. Is is slowly dying?

Hi there. We have a glasshouse 4mx4m and keen to grow vegetables. We have begun with a autopot system with tomatoes , aubergines and lebanese cucumbers. The tomatoes are fruiting well but despite lots of flowers the cucmbers and aubergines are not pollinating to fruit.
I am beginning to realise that I need help about what to grow and how to grow and pollinate – which plants are self pollinators and which seeds to buy
I really would like this to be a productive space throughout the year
Can you help with advice or know of any resources that might help me
Regards
David

Hi There,

We bought a plant from you last August and I’ve just been told it has “white scale”on it.

We are in a showroom and it has spread to our other plants too.

I was told it is treated with White Oil – would this be your recommendations and do you sell it if so?

Many thanks,

Celine

Hi
I’ve been given a tillandsia (air plant) and have been putting it in water about once a week (as per the instruction card that came with it). However, the leaves are starting to go brown, curling up and looking like they are dying. I’m not sure if I have given it too much water, or with this heat the last few weeks I’ve not given it enough water!!! Help please! I don’t want to kill it as it was a present from my brother and his partner!
Thanks
Caroline

Hi, I’ve been looking everywhere for a pilea peperomioides plant and was just wondering if you have the capacity to get them at Palmers? They are incredibly hard to find!

Is there a rule of thumb guide about removing laterals on tomatoes. I am growing a wide range of varieties, some in containers and hanging baskets[tumblers] and some that spread over the ground [ramblers] I am unsure as to if I should remove the laterals or not.

hi, I have an indoor peace lily. Its leaves are starting to turn yellow at the edges, and its become quite droopy. Does this mean I need to feed it with something in particular?

Hiyas
I have 2 Calathea plants, I believe the Rufibarba type.
They live in my conservatory in Christchurch and aren’t looking great.
Originally I thought they could have some kind of tiny bugs, see the close-up image of the speckled looking leaf. Then I thought perhaps I was over-watering, but then I read into it more and now I’m concerned they’re getting too much light.
I’ve attached a photo of where they live, which shows where the sun goes. When it’s high they would likely get a bit of direct sun on their leaves.
I usually do so well with house plants, but I can’t seem to get it right with these. Does anyone have any advice?
Thank you in advance
Sara
