I just bought an indoor plant called Venus Fly Trap. It was amazing. A fly got caught and that flower is closed tightly. What do I do now? To chop that flower? or just leave it like that?

I bought a Cypress Bonsai tree a day ago for a gift and I forgot to ask for instructions on how to maintain it. It is a small tree with a lot of leaves, i bought it for $50 from the Glen Eden shop. How often does it need to be watered and what type of food does it need and how often? Also how often does it need to be put outside in the sun, because I wanted it mainly as an indoor plant.

Hello, I am wondering if you sell fiddle leaf fig trees? I live in Dunedin but am coming up to Auckland and can’t seem to find anywhere that sells them.

Cheers

What plants/flowers are good inside all year round in pots? We are moving to a bigger house & want something to brighten up the front entrance on the inside.

I was wondering how the lucky bamboo plant should be trimmed? From the top or bottom?

Hi, we have 2 extremely large bird of paradise plants in our garden and I’d like to know how to go about taking a few stems and repotting for use as in indoor plant? I have seen many photos lately with these plants used indoors and would like to try this. Do I need to dig out the roots of some of the large stems? If so what’s the best way as the plant is huge.

Thanks

If I want to make a “plant ball” about 15~25 cm across after plants grown up (so there are 2 parts: soil at the middle with plants covered around).. 1) Will the plants at the bottom grows upwards? Can I modify it by changing the location of light? 2) How long will it normally take to change a plant’s growing direction? 3) What methods could I take to shorten a plant almost permanently? 4) What kind of plants could achieved these goals? And, what kind of herbs could I use?

Do orchids grow a new budding stem if the original turns woody? I am considering repotting it but don’t know if it will be a waste of time.

I have a fine indoor bamboo plant, well two of them, each side of the door… I have just cut them right back severely as I was sick of the yellow leaves… They are growing back nicely now, with green leaves. Is there any way I can stop this from happening again???? Am I doing something wrong, or is this just the way these plants go? I have them in the conservatory.

Greetings

A few day’s ago I bought a gerbera plant from the warehouse. When i got home, i realised it was an ‘indoor’ gerbera. I’ve not heard of ‘indoor’ gerberas before and am asking whether or not it could be planted outside to become an ‘outdoor’ gerbera or is indoors a must?

thanks
Corinne
