Do Monarch butterflies still hatch on the swan trees if they still have flowers and the actual swan it’s self. I have a big tree and haven’t seen one monarch lay any eggs on my two trees.

When I bought my house a year ago it had a nicely trimmed bamboo hedge that does a terrific job at sheltering the house from the prevailing wind. I’ve let it grow a little more “fluffy” but would welcome some advice on how to keep it tidy, and not become rampant. How many times a year should I trim it and how closely?

I have a new house with a large established garden including fruit plants, flowering shrubs, trees, ferns, hedges, succulents, herb garden etc. If I bought a different fertilser for each it would be very expensive. Can you give me an idea of a few basic fertilsers that should cover the whole garden?

Hi there,
I am renting at the moment so have limited options for planting out. I would like to plant some window boxes for colour but would also like to choose some bee friendly flowers and wildflowers.
I have wooden planter boxes and some pots to use.
What would you recommend?
Thanks in advance

Looking for a recommendation for a flowering shrub that I can plant next to a gravesite. It needs to be very hardy with little to no maintenance.

Hi was wanting to buy some trees suitable to plant in paddock for horses to take shelter. Paddock has small natural spring so is always quite wet so need something that can grow in wet area as well and something that will grow reasonably fast

Hello there
We need advice on the most successful type of plants to grow in a gravely, dryish often shady position running along the north west side of our house.
We need something that has good thickish covering & grows at least 30cm high.

Hi there
I feed the birds in my backyard but they make a great mess on the Trellis. Has anybody got any ideas on how to prevent birds from landing/perching on it? I have seen bird spikes, but they look mean. I have tried tying fishing line above the fence so they can’t land but that didn’t work, they just push it down with their weight. I have seen the bird gel tubes but they only last so long and cost $20 a tube a think.
thanks

i have a trellis at the edge of my garden, the other side is on a paddock which often has cattle in it. Previously there was a montana clematis there, the cattle could munch it without any harmful effects. I would now like to replace the clematis with a blue potato vine but someone told me they could be toxic. Can you tell me if this is true?

I have heard that boiling rhubarb leaves and spraying this on roses and fruit trees will get rid of aphids. I this correct?
