I’m a home brewer living in Wellington and would like to purchase some rhizomes or potted hops plants to grow my own hops over summer.
Waimea Nurseries (based in Nelson) supply various hops rhizomes and I understand you are one of their customers. Can you please tell me if you have any hops plants/rhizomes in stock or whether you would be able to order some in?
Thanks and regards

I was given a compost made up of lawn clippings, leaves and ash which is a year old approx. It is dark in colour, has worms in it but also has some clods. Is there anything I should add to this before it goes in the garden (which is mainly Native plants and a few camellias, and a hibiscus). Also is it safe to use?
A number of cabbage trees that were damaged with a severe storm. 3 heads (and up to 1m of stem) have been snapped off (were about 3-4m tall with a trunk about 8-10cm wide) and another small one has just become loose and leans right over (it is only about 1.5m tall and has a trunk around 5cm thick). Are these salvageable? What is my best plan of attack?
I bought my daughter a Peonie last December and it is looking fairly sad at the moment. When do I do something with the plant ie. trim and re-pot? She is going overseas soon and will be back in time for flowering so I would like it to be looking like its florishing!
How do you kill ivy – it is on a concrete block wall and has just taken over – it is about 6 feet high above the carport in a thick mass and is from the next-door-neighbour which is a rental property. We are helping to clean up a back garden for our relation.
We had a tree specialist remove an oak tree from a garden (he ground the stump out also). Last year we had large fungus sprout up in the garden and on the lawn. We dug it out and sprayed it. I notice it has returned. Fungi doesn’t look anything like a mushroom, but is a sort of large fan shape and is multi-coloured brown. What do you recommend we do to kill it and prevent it returning?
