When I spray with Conqueror Oil in conjunction with other sprays, do I need the usual Sprayfix as well, or does the Oil repel the weather? I am spraying roses and other flowers in the home garden.

Having been given some iris bulbs I wondered if I could start them growing now (March) in pots then transplant them into the garden at a later date…and what type of ground do iris plants need?

Hi There
I recently lost my precious Cousin Lucy to Breast Cancer. I want to gift her Husband and children a nice outdoor plant to remember her by. I know that she loved Daphne and I thought a nice ornamental pot with a reasonably well established Daphne that could sit near the front door and provide a beautiful scent to remind them of her every time they walk past would be something they can take with them wherever they move to in future.
I am struggling to work out how to achieve this. It would need to be put together by somebody and delivered to their rural property on the north side of Taumarunui. I can’t find a garden centre near them that might be able to deliver it or that sells Daphne. Would Daphne survive in Taumarunui?
I would just come and do this myself but I am living in London.
Any helpful suggestions would be great.

Every night this week my marigolds that are supposed to protect my vegetables are being broken off at the base. One by one they go. I can’t keep up with replanting and I can’t figure out what insect is doing it.
The stem has a little hole or two and is cracked and damaged. It is only damaged in the first inch above the ground. The rest of the plant is fine, but it can’t live on with a broken trunk. I am running out of plants and it took me months to grow them from seed. After all my effort and time I fear I will have nothing to show for it. Please help me figure this out. I took pictures.

Hi. I have a long narrow garden across the front of my house. It is against the house so in shade all day until late afternoon. It is not sheltered so can be exposed to winds. What will thrive there? Ideally I would love to have plants with flowers to soften the house (currently not looking very attractive) Many thanks. Jo

Hi, I have a grandaflora and a coulpe of michelia trees, evergreen, and was hoping to prune them hard back to a metre or so. They range from 3-5 metres at a guess. Would they survive this and sprout back so I can control the size or would it be the equivelent as a beheading?
