I live in a flat with minimal garden area. Could I successfully grow pots of Wildflowers or do they have to be planted directly into an outdoor garden and soil?

Can you advise where in NZ I might purchase a Nelson Rain train(travelling irrigator)They are made in USA but surely there must be a NZ outlet. I used to own two when had a big garden in Otaki. Moved to Aussie but have moved back to Keri keri and have a lot of lawn to water. They are excellent as they travel back up a hose and can be left on overnight. Thanks Ray

Hi there,
I’ve managed to get some allium gigantium seeds. Do you have any tips on when to plant them and how to go about it? Can they be grown in Auckland?!
Many thanks!

I have an aloe bainessi tree.. It’s about 2 metres tall. Would it survive ok if we cut off some lower leaves in order to open up the view from an outdoor seating area? Thanks!

Why isnt Rotorua Palmers offering this?

In an outdoor container, the thyme appeared to be flagging and the soil dry but a moisture meter suggested otherwise. I thought the root of a parsley plant may have been taking up too much room so pulled it out and found the soil full of a huge amount of ants. Can you offer a solution without discarding the whole container and replanting? /would ant sand work?

I love aquilegias (granny bonnets) and put a few new ones into the garden each year. I notice that after a while I lose my brightly coloured reds, yellows, blues etc and they all seem revert to a dull pink. Is this due to cross pollination from bees and what can I do about it? Should I dig out the plants that are reverting?

Hi,

I am working at Victoria university of Wellington and I would need white lupine (Lupinus albus) seeds for a scientific collaboration with a research institute in Germany. The experiments would require Lupinus albus but I am aware that it is a mayor headache to import seeds into NZ. So, my question is if such seeds are for sale (I found mixes of lupine at Bunnings but we need pure white lupine. I’d appreciate if you could advice.

Cheers
Petrik
