I’m a home brewer living in Wellington and would like to purchase some rhizomes or potted hops plants to grow my own hops over summer.
Waimea Nurseries (based in Nelson) supply various hops rhizomes and I understand you are one of their customers. Can you please tell me if you have any hops plants/rhizomes in stock or whether you would be able to order some in?
Thanks and regards

Is October the correct time to plant a Lily Of The Valley shrub and do they like shade e.g. under trees or in the sun. I want one that smells nice and is hardy. I really appreciate being able to ask advice

Hi I have a south facing garden with a wooden fence and a tree at one end. The shady end I have been able to get looking ok with shade plants but the other end gets very little sun in winter and lots in summer. I have a climbing rose, a lavendar, alstromeria. But all look tatty in winter. Can you recommend anything that would look good in winter? Would be happy to plant it all in small shrubs to get an attractive consistent look. I do water it in summer. Thanks

Please can you tell me the correct way to prune hydrangeas. The lady we brought our house from pruned them to 12in above ground each year and they where beautiful. I do it and they wont flower. Please dont tell me to only prune stems that have just flowered. That leaves big long stragley stems.
I am looking for a small money tree plant or known as the names above in the title.
Do you happen to sell one of these?
Looking forward to your reply.

I have a Jasmine plant and am told it can grow rampant and try to get in everywhere. I was advised that I should grow it in a pot. Question is – a pot with drainage holes, or a pot with the bottom cut out? And secondly, I have been trying to grow my pohutukawa tree here in Rotorua and it keeps dying! So I’ve cut the dead branches etc off and hope again. Any advice??? And yes – have tried frost cloth to no avail!
