Do you or can you obtain Mycorrhizal which is a fungi which will thrive in soil where roses used to be. To be put on roots of the new roses and put in hole with manure in hole.

Hello

I bought a climbing rose named Wedding Day two seasons ago. During the first season, it bore no flowers with plenty of foliage.
This year there were two bunches of small white flowers at the beginning of this season. But no further flowers. The branches are growing tall and climbing.
What should I do?

Thanks for your advice.

Regards
Hiran

Madame Alfred Carriere has had 2 opportunities to flower in my garden and this second plant refused to bloom as well!
What can I do?
Plenty of leaf. Seasol as in rest of garden plus nitofoska recently.

Thanks,
Jenny

My rather old roses (potted) look as though they are suffering from die back…but it seems I should have sprayed them with lime sulphur when leafless..is there anything I can do now? Should I keep on cutting off the bits that are turning brown and look dead? Should I just leave things alone and spray properly next year? They are flowering and look healthy otherwise.

18 months ago I took a cutting from an old rambling rose growing on an old fence roadside Browns Bay. Planted it against a fene in my new garden in Tauranga. It has grown rampantly with branches & leaves but no sign of any gorgeous pink roses so far. Will it flower eventaully? Should I give it Rose Manure? Should I prune some branches off? Thanks for any help.

I have 3 really old roses that have continuous blackspot, rust etc. no matter how much i spray its always there. is it possible to prune the roses right back to the main stem (the woody part) and start all over again, or will this effect the plant and stress is it out and kill it off?

Hi there – about 2 weeks ago I sprayed my 3 month old climbing rose with the above product. I think the two sprayings were too close together. my fault entirely. The new growth is coming through burnt and I’m unsure how much to cut it back to let it recover. Some of the leaves are affected too with brown marks. I have cut back what I can see has been affected but I don’t want to be too ruthless. Should I be feeding it something special or extra watering etc? As it was expensive I really want to save it – and I’ve locked away the rose spray!! 🙂

Hi

I would like to buy plants for friends who may be moving in the future, which needs to be easy to look after.

I like the idea of it being in a pot with colourful flowers and a strong perfume. A freind suggested the Josephine Bruce Rose what are your thoughts on this and can you suggest anything else

They both live in Auckland

Thanks very much
Wendy

Yesterday I met a lady who had a two year old rose plant which was fabulous. She told me two years ago it was one of Palmers Remuera’s best three roses but she couldn’t remember the name. It was a light purple colour with yellow centre, and very fragrant. In two years it had grown considerably. Can you help with the name please.

With all this rain in Auckland I have put off spraying copper on the roses, should I just do it or wait for a sunny forecast for longer than one day?
