Hi there – did you know there’s currently a competition open to schools, enviro’ groups and ag clubs to win $500 towards creating or developing an edible garden. It’s run by not-for-profit organisation Soil, Food & Society. Here’s the link: https://www.soilfoodsociety.online/edible-garden-competition. Is this something you could put into your newsletters? Thank you : )

What is the difference between compost and garden mix, I need to fill a rose garden which I will add some vegetables to in places and I have read compost can be too strong for some plants to be directly planted into?

I have several veges in pots and there are mushrooms growing around in the compost. There appears to be several different varieties. Is it still safe to eat the veges, and what do I use to get rid of them?

There is a bug leaving white trails in the leaves of my sugar snap peas. When I turn the leaf over it looks like they are in the leaf. Any idea what they might be and how to get rid of them? My peas are planted with carrots, Chillies, lettuce and cucumber.

Hey, I’m new to gardening but I’ve noticed my crops not doing too well on closer examination I’ve noticed on the soil a whole lot of fungus looking stuff growing through the hole garden bed… What do I do? Is it too far gone now that I have to remove everything and start again? I’ve taken some photos if you need to see it. Just give me a email and I can forward them on..

Hi
I might be expecting life too early. I left the rhubarb in the garden from last year (actually a half wine cask and am a little concerned that there is no sign of life.
Am I little early or should I start again

thanks

I have 2 campari tomato plants which I have planted into huge containers that sit on limestone chip, will this be ok? Do I take out the little shoots that appear at the bottom of the leaf by the stem. I am a newbie gardener, so any help on how to grow these appreciated.

Hi, I planted a rhubarb last summer and everything I read said not to harvest the first years crop but to let it die back over winter to feed the root stock. I did this even though my plant was a triffid. It’s now spring and my plant us still quite large.should I cut it all back to allow for new growth or should I leave it.
Cheers TJ

Some of my asparagus crowns which are 4 yr old plants which are about the size of a small saucer are rock hard , and the new shoots are unable to penetrate through, and if they do shoot around there outside of the crown they have brown scales.

What can I do
