I am raising Zuchini from seed. My seedlings are 4~5 inches high but where it comes out of the raising mix it’s just a very thin threadlike stem and are laying over, is there any reason for this

Hi Grant,
The three common causes for this problem can be:
- Insufficient light: This is the main culprit to having leggy and thin seedlings. They try to grow towards the light.
- Lack of moisture: If the mix dries out at any time this can cause plants to grow thin and weak stems. Dry soil can stop the seedlings from accessing nutrients to grow stronger stems.
- High temperatures: This causes rapid growth, the stems will grow much faster than the leaves. This can happen if temperatures get too high.
I hope this helps
