My hydrangeas have developed a think grey colour on the leaves this summer. I have sprayed with insecticide but it has not helped. Pls advise as to what it can be and a remedy. Many thanks
Lana

Hi Lana, this most likely will be a mildew problem and would need to be sprayed with a fungicide. We would question the need to spray now as hydrangea will drop their leaves shortly any way and any spraying will not have an effect on existing growth. It would be best to get some Biogro certified organic copper spray and spray the hydrangea during winter (when they don’t have any leaves). This will help prevent it from happening again next year. You most likely will have to repeat spray especially during humid weather. Remember fungal sprays are preventative sprays (compared to curing/killing sprays). Thanks, the Palmers team
