I bought an apple tree about 4 months ago and planted it in a sheltered spot in our back garden. This week I have noticed that it is blossoming. Surely this is the wrong time of year for that. It is a Braeburn. Do you have any thoughts?

For your question. Yes, quite a few reported cases of this at the stores. It seems many plants have had their internal clocks confused due to the unusual weather patterns. I would snip off the blossoms (unlikely to set fruit and very unlikely that fruits would ripen) and spray the tree with copper oxychloride to hardenthe foliage and hopefully put the tree back on track.
