Hi there,
I have an artichoke that has finally produced fruit after 2 seasons sitting in my garden! I was very excited to see that after chopping the old leaves and stems off four new shoots have sprouted!
What is the best time to part and re-plant my new baby artichokes?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Ira, the baby artichoke can be cut from the mother plant relatively soon (before the baby plants get too big).
If you have had some rain lately this can be done now, if you are in a dryer spot maybe wait until the soil is a bit moist. Just use a sharp spade or knife to cut from the mother plant and when transplanting out, water with some organic fertiliser – maybe 2-3 times to get it going. Thanks, the Palmers team
