Lichen are common on older trees and although it seldom kills it’s host, it can slow the health of your tree. It is very easy to erradicate with a spray of Lime Sulphur. This will need to be done as soon as possible while the tree is dormant and before new flower buds and growth tips begin to swell. This remedy is relatively inexpensive, safe to use (follow the instructions on the bottle) and remember not to mix any other sprays with this at time of application.
