Hi,
We have a hedge (Mexican orange blossom) that has bora. The hedge has grown quite large for the space and the combination of this and the bora it is now quite woody.
What are the chances of getting it back to good health?

Secondly we have a buxus hedge that looks like it has some type of fungi or mould? Is there any common conditions this is likely to be?

Thanks,
Amanda.

Hi Amanda, The Mexican orange blossom is known to get Bora, but does respond to pruning very well. Try giving the plant a hard trim and see how they respond over the autumn and spring months. The Buxus do tend to suffer from Box Blight there’s not a lot that you can do apart from some prevention measures as follows; Keeping foliage dry, increase airflow (require sometimes a hard prune) and increase light levels (pruning trees above the hedge) A spray with Thiram has also proven to be of some help.

Thanks the Palmers Team
