I started some brazilian carnival flowers from seed and they have been doing very well however they have developed chocolate brown spots on the under side of the leaves and now on the stems. The spots are powdery and are developing in concentric circles. Is it a fungus or insect causing this ? What can I do to get rid of them ?

It sounds like a fungal infection. You are best to pop into your local Palmers for a fungicide to use. There are a range available – some natural ones and some chemical options.
