My calla lilies have failed to flower every year. I used to grow beautiful calla lilies when I lived in Whakatane, so when I shifted to Rotorua 10 years ago, I decided to plant them here too. However, they have never flowered. Is it bad bulbs, or the environment? They are in a shadier position here than in my Whakatane garden.

Hi Jacqui, Two things, like you say not enough sun – they really do need to be in a full sun position, also ensure that you give them a balanced fertiliser (a fertiliser that has a good level of Potash) Also the bulbs might get old and might lose performance.
Thanks the Palmers Team
