Firstly, once you’ve chosen a sheltered but sunny spot, you need to prepare the area by removing grass and other weeds, preparing the soil by adding compost and other organic matter, and some general purpose fertiliser. It would be a good idea to test the pH to see whether or not you need to add any other fertilisers. These test kits are available in your local Palmers store. Have a look at the Gardening Calendar for ideas of what to plant in April. This is available on the website or instores.
