I have a lot of rust on my day lillies. Is it best to cut them right back and then spray? What is best product to spray with and should I be doing it now?

Hi Jane,
You could cut them back now, ensuring all foliage is disposed of and the plant is “cleaned” up – give them a good spray with Free Flow Copper. If you are in a very frosty area, you might need to cover them with some Peastraw or similar.
For next year, prevent rust by spraying them with the Free Flow Copper again at regular intervals and as soon as new growth appears. Free Flow Copper is a very good preventative fungal spray for many plants.
Thanks, the Palmers team
