My butternut plant appears to set fruit, six on one runner in one case, but on checking today, I find four have disappeared without a trace leaving just two fat, healthy fruit. Where did the others go?I am reluctant to believe they’ve been hijacked as they are far from mature. What happened to them?

Hi Ben, We are thinking that it’s most likely a rodent (rat/hedgehog?), they are probably too big to have been taken by a bird? They only thing we can suggest is to put some bird netting over/around them to stop more being taken! Thanks the Palmers Team
