Many years ago I planted a number of fruit trees on my small lifestyle block. These have all grown well to reach maturity. Each spring (around about now)I watch with great anticipation for the new season’s growth, feeling rewarded, even blessed by the appearance of prolific apple and pear blossom. But so sparse on two plum trees, an apricot and an almond that I have never tasted fruit from these. All trees are in the same location, close enough in some cases to have their branches mingling. I have periodically spread fruit tree fertilisers around the drip line but still no blossom. Anyone suggest reasons why I am missing out?

Hi Graham, If there are no flowers than potentially they are being pruned at the wrong time of the year and all flowering wood is being pruned away, it might pay to get a professional to trim your fruit trees in winter next year.

Thanks the Palmers Team
