Hi there, I live in Lyall Bay right on Lyall Parade. Just looking for some advice on plants that could grow ok here. Something that can handle sea salt and high winds. Anything pretty would be nice.

Living coastal must be lovely. There is still plenty of plants that are available to people in coastal areas. Here is a small list for you to get started.
Trees
- Pohutakawa (metrosideros)
- Wattle (Acacia)
- Bottlebrush (Calistemon)
- Manuka (Letospermum)
- Cabbage tree (Cordyline)
Shrubs
- Ceanothus
- Cistus
- Coprosma
- Grevillia
- Hebe
- Hibiscus
- Lavender
Perennials/annuals
- Livingston daisy
- arctotis
- gazania
- Day lily
- Portulaca
