Ripe seeds are normally dried in paper bags before using, but this is not always essential. Most palm seeds will raise quite happily in a fairly deep (10cm) seed raising tray filled with Yates Black Magic seed raising mix. The seeds should be placed about 3cm below the surface and the mix needs to be kept just damp (the tray will need drainage holes). Palm seeds can take a while to germinate and dont all germinate at the same rate, so some patience is required. Sprouts should be transplanted before they develop too much root, into a pot with normal potting mix.
