I have a mature grape vine in my backyard. For years we have had wonderful grapes. The last couple of years, the bunches have started to colour up, then before they are ripe, they shrival. Why? There is no obvious sign of disease and I prune every winter.

This may be because last season in particular we had such a high rain fall and low sunlight hours your fruit like others could have been affected. Have you had the same trouble this year after such a boomer Summer? If you have had this happen this year you may have a trouble with black rot which is a fungal disease. Prune them as you do this winter and remove the trimmings off your property. Early in the season next year treat with a fungicide to support the vine from future attack.
