I pruned my grapevine in June/July and suddenly now, it’s started to bleed, is this normal. It’s only in one area, the liquid is a little opaque, slimey more than sticky. would be really grateful if you could shed some light on this. Thanks

Hi Marge, The bleeding is so late/long after pruning which is unusual. If it is from the cut it just means the wound hasn’t healed prior to sap flow starting again. I would make a fresh cut and apply a pruning paste or Vaseline to the cut to stop the bleeding (maybe the previous cut was serrated). Thanks the Palmers Team
