I have guava moth infestation – I live in Half Moon Bay in Auckland

They were in my feijoas and are attacking my macadamia nut tree – I have also found them in my lemons. I put a trap in the macadamia tree and caught quite a few – what else can I do? This is a major problem!

Thank you

Hi Glenda
Indeed this is a major problem that lots of people are experiencing this year! Keep using the traps as your main method of catching the male moth, if you are catching lots of them then follow up with a spray of Success Ultra as this will get the next stage of the life cycle. If you are catching just the odd one you should be okay without the Success. You can wrap the fruit trees with a cloth called Micro Cover, this will prevent the moth laying eggs on/near the fruit.
Good luck!
Thanks, the Palmers team
