First time growing fruit tress in my lawn.I dig the ground atleast a meter first and then add household waste to make compost in it.And fill it up with it.On top i add organic compost store brought. Then i plant trees bought from nursuries. That is how i am planting all my trees. Is this wrong. Should i wait till the waste completely decomposes before planting or i can plant right away. Please help cause a lot of debate is going on in my house.

It is important that the material is properly composted before planting, as this process produces heat – and uses up nutrients as it breaks down the waste. The heat will damage the plants roots and any nutrients used will not be available to the plant, which could cause a deficiency. Have a look a the Palmers How To Guides on planting fruit trees.
