I have an endemic of holes in the leaves of bergenia as well as silver beet and spinach in the vege garden. These are round small holes in the bergenia and larger holes in the silverbeet and spinach. Have been told that there is another caterpillar on the munch due to the warmer months of April and May. Has anyone ideas about this new gardening problem as I have no idea how to combat it.

Hi Judi,
Most likely it will just be the white butterfly caterpillar (the caterpillar is green). Regardless of what the caterpillar is, use Diamateceous Earth (debug) to prevent this. Debug is an organic powder which is safe to use on edibles.
Thanks, the Palmers team
