Some of the reasons we get moss in lawns are poor drainage within the soil, compact areas of the lawn, shady areas of the lawn and nutrient deficiencies.
You can improve drainage within the mossy area of the lawn by aerating the soil with a fork or other tools, prevent compaction by keeping off that particular area of the lawn and eliminate any shading of that area if possible.
There are several products on the market that are ideal for controlling moss. LawnPro Mossclear is a good product. Apply the product now or as soon as you can. Autumn is ideal as moss will become more established over winter. Ensure the lawn is mowed short before applying the product and avoid cutting again for as long as possible. Repeat the treatment if needed. Rake out the dead moss once it has died.
Raise the PH of your lawn by feeding your lawn with a lawn fertiliser.
