We have three Karaka trees on our front lawn – not sure how old they are. They keep dropping yellow leaves and some have brown spots on them as well. The middle tree doesn’t appear to drop as many as the two outside ones. Is this normal?

Leaves turning yellow and dropping can be from a number of things. Often leaves turn yellow as they mature and die off, the natural cycle of things. But sometimes it is down to overly wet or overly dry conditions or a soil fungus and the plant/tree is showing signs of suffering. The brown spots could be rust or a type of fungus. Spray with Yates Champ DP Copper Fungicide – a Yates product at monthly intervals. For a more personalised opinion bring a sample down to your local garden centre.
